What is Chase Season?

Chase Season started because the hype cycle was missing something. Watching streams and rip-and-shippers, the same handful of cards always got the spotlight — but the more time spent in collector communities, the more it became obvious that most collectors had their own chase. A specific card. Their card. And those chases almost never matched whatever was trending.

Chase Season is the answer to that. A community-voted index built by the collectors themselves, not by influencers or algorithms chasing volume. You don't sign up. You don't enter inventory. You explore, you tap to chase the cards you want, and you come back when the index refreshes.

Frequently asked about Chase Season

The site, the voting mechanic, the methodology, the disclaimers — answered with the canonical version of each answer.

7 questions answered
Q.01

What is Chase Season?

Chase Season is the community-voted market index for Pokémon TCG. It tracks every modern parent expansion with live market pricing, anonymous community chase votes, and 7-day view momentum — combined into a daily Chase Index that ranks what collectors are actually chasing, refreshed every 24 hours.
Q.02

How does voting work?

On any card page you can tap once to chase. The vote is anonymous, no account is required, and there is no portfolio or inventory to maintain. Votes are aggregated nightly and feed the community-signal component of the Chase Index.
Q.03

Do I need an account to vote?

No. Chase Season has no signup, no email collection, and no inventory tracking. One tap is the entire interaction.
Q.04

How is the Chase Index calculated?

The Chase Index Score is a composite of four percentile-ranked signals: 15% holofoil market price, 35% upward-only 7-day price move, 30% rolling 30-day community chase votes, and 20% rolling 7-day card-page views. The global index is restricted to cards with a market price of $5 or more so penny-card noise can't dominate the move signal, and for now excludes vintage cards (pre-2004 sets), reverse holofoils, and Commons; per-set and per-tag rankings include every card. Each signal is normalised before weighting so a card that's moving this week can outrank a quiet expensive one.
Q.05

Is Chase Season affiliated with The Pokémon Company?

No. Chase Season is an independent project, not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, or approved by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., The Pokémon Company, or TCGPlayer. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Q.06

How often is the data updated?

Market pricing refreshes once per 24 hours; the Chase Index, movers, and per-set aggregates rebuild on the same daily cycle. Vote counts update continuously throughout the day.
Q.07

Can I track my collection on Chase Season?

No — Chase Season tracks the collection, not your collection. There are good apps that handle inventory; we focus on what collectors as a body are chasing. Read more on the About page →
