What is a Gold Star Pokémon card?
Look for a star (★) beside the Pokémon's name and its Shiny colour palette. The original English Gold Star run belongs to the EX era. A gold-coloured card or a gold star in the rarity-symbol area alone does not identify one of these cards: modern rarity symbols use stars too. Check the set and collector number to identify the printing.
Which Gold Star is the most valuable?

What's the difference between a Gold Star and a Shiny Pokémon card?
Shiny describes a Pokémon's alternative colour palette; Gold Star identifies a particular card treatment. Many Shiny Pokémon cards belong to other collections, such as Shiny Vault or Radiant Pokémon. A Shiny illustration alone does not make a card part of this Gold Star checklist.
